Spiced Pear Bourbon Smash
A bourbon smash with cinnamon syrup, fresh lemon and Dried Yet. pear slices, with pear used in the shaker and again as the garnish.
Why pear works with bourbon and cinnamon
The Spiced Pear Bourbon Smash combines bourbon, cinnamon syrup and fresh lemon with dried pear used in two ways: one slice is muddled gently in the shaker and a second Dried Yet. Pear Slice finishes the glass. Pear gives the drink a seasonal fruit cue that sits naturally beside bourbon and cinnamon.
Keep the muddling gentle, as written in the recipe, then shake with ice and strain over fresh ice. Add the second pear slice only after the drink is poured so it stays visible as the finishing garnish.
Serving and presentation
A rocks glass keeps this drink compact and lets the dried pear wheel sit close to the surface. Place the garnish at the edge of the glass or lean it against the ice so the pear is easy to see from the front.
For multiple serves, keep the bourbon, cinnamon syrup and lemon measured consistently. Reserve the second pear slice for the final presentation step so each glass receives the same finish.
Build out a whiskey garnish set
Pear is one option for richer, seasonal whiskey drinks. Dried orange, smoked orange and lemon can cover classic whiskey serves such as Old Fashioneds, highballs and sours. See the whiskey and bourbon garnish guide or browse the complete cocktail garnish collection.
