Apple Cinnamon Hot Toddy
A warm bourbon or whiskey toddy with honey and lemon, finished with Dried Yet. cinnamon apple slices and optional cinnamon stick.
A warm whiskey drink with an apple finish
The Apple Cinnamon Hot Toddy combines bourbon or whiskey with hot water, honey and fresh lemon juice. A Dried Yet. Cinnamon Apple Slice adds a clear apple-and-spice visual cue to the warm drink while the measured honey and lemon stay unchanged.
Add the dried apple after the drink is fully mixed. One or two slices can rest at the top of the mug, and the existing recipe also allows a cinnamon stick if one is available.
Serving and presentation
Use a heatproof mug and stir the honey into the hot water before adding the whiskey, as written in the recipe. Once the drink is combined, place the apple slice where it remains visible above the surface rather than pushing it to the bottom of the mug.
For a small gathering, keep the whiskey, honey and lemon measured consistently in each mug and add the garnish as the final service step. That gives every toddy the same visual finish while keeping the recipe straightforward.
More dried garnishes for whiskey
Apple brings a seasonal direction to this warm serve, while dried lemon, orange and smoked orange offer different visual and flavor cues for other whiskey drinks. Explore our whiskey and bourbon garnish guide or browse the full cocktail garnish collection.
